Pets are like kids. They get bored easily and need plenty of your attention to get through the day. People are exceptionally close to their pets nowadays, the FaceTime animals, they have TVs for their cats and dogs. The list is endless and if you’re a pet owner, we know you know the struggle of trying to keep your furry friend occupied. There are many TV channels that are directed towards pets but your ISP may block them. In this case, you can easily use a good VPN to change your server settings. Find out can ISP see VPN, and you can hide it from your ISP. What steps you can take to ensure you get a robust VPN like that of VeePN and access all the best content for your pet all day long.
So if you are looking at how to keep a puppy or another pet entertained, here are some cool options we’ve decided to share with you:
TV and Music for Your Dogs
Whether you believe it or not, there is such a thing as television for dogs! Dog TV’s official streaming service, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, allows you to watch programs that have been scientifically produced just for dogs. After all, we all like a good couch potato session every now and then — and dogs are no exception!
According to a number of studies, playing classical music to dogs can reduce negative behaviors linked with anxiety and tension while increasing behaviors associated with relaxation and tranquility. So, the next time you have to leave the house for a few hours, why not leave a little Classic FM on for your debonair canine companion to listen to? If you don’t have access to a radio, you could try leaving this soothing eight-hour-long playlist on YouTube to play while you work or relax.
FaceTime with Your Pet
Okay, so it’s not quite the same as FaceTime, but The Petcube is equally as useful. In addition to being able to visually watch and interact with your pet while you are away, you can also communicate with them verbally! Not only that, but you can also use a laser pointer to interact with them and play games with them.
A mobile app is available that you can distribute to friends and family so that they may engage with your dog from wherever they are as well! Your pet will never be alone in his or her life again. On the Petcube website, there is a fantastic video that explains everything. This is one great alternative to FaceTime animals.
Amazon Prime’s “Cat TV”
Any indoor cat would be hooked to the screen if they were watching one of the free videos available on the streaming site. In the woods, there are scenes shot at bird feeders that belong to the characters. “Movies for Cats – Forest Birds and Chipmunks” is a collection of films that do just that. “Songbirds and Squirrels on a Tree” and “Baby Robin’s Day Out” are also excellent choices. And then there’s my particular meta-favorite, “Movies for Cats — Gray Catbirds,” which is a compilation of cat-themed films.
Although we don’t really recommend handing your mobile devices to your pet, there are several apps and games online that can keep your furry friend entertained for a while. Both the play store and Apple store have options that you can explore for times when nothing else really works and you’re trying to figure out how to keep your puppy entertained.
As we mentioned before, pets are like kids so like TV for cats, there is a pretty standard way to keep them entertained through regular content designed for kids. You can stream cartoon channels on your PC or mobile or any standard channel on the TV can work really well. We can’t guarantee that the pet will sit there and be entertained for a long time but you can keep them busy for small amounts of time like 20 minutes.
What are some other ways to entertain your pet?
Arguably, electronic devices aren’t the only way to keep your pets engaged. Here are some more indoor activities you can focus on:
- Practice obedience training with your pets every day
- Teach them a new trick
- Play games like find the treat
- Give them a toy to focus on and play with
- Give them access to a window to spend time observing the outdoors
- Engage them with food and treat dispenser toys
- Star their day with a high level of games or activities so as the day ends, they are ready to rest and wind down
- Rotate their toys so they have something new and interesting to look forward to every time
- Play a game of tug of war with your pets
- Create an indoor obstacle course and their own little play area
A healthy mix of indoor activities and screen time will ensure your pet’s energy is directed towards positive things during the day and that they have expanded their energy enough to have a sound sleep all night. This will also ensure that your pets’ mental health remains intact and they feel happy and cared for.
