What is SASM?
SASM stands for SAFe® 5.1 Advanced Scrum Master, this certification is the next big step in your journey as a scrum master, and can open many gates in your career. Apart from the basics of Scrum Teams and Scrum Master, this course also teaches you how to master the knowledge in this field and utilize it to its maximum potential.
A SASM certified individual is a great add-on to any developmental team, as they can maximize productivity while optimizing the time taken to do so.

What is SAFe®?
Scaled Agile Framework or SAFe® for short, is a compilation of workflow practices for the scaling of agile practices at an enterprise scale. It comprises a body of knowledge on topics like managing a team upholding work ethics roles and responsibilities, etc.
Although SAFe® promotes mutual collaboration across many different agile teams, it was founded based on just three: agile software development, lean product development, and systems thinking.

Who Is This Certification For?
Although anyone can reap the benefits of this certification, it is recommended for only the people who are serious about a career in Scrum, as, unlike many other Scrum certifications, SASM Certification covers a more in-depth view of the field. It’s considered a mastery skill where you will learn about capitalizing your knowledge of Scrum and Agile framework to maximize the output in any developmental team.
For most Scrum professionals this is an amazing addition to their skillset as currently certified Scrum masters are in massive demand in the IT and software industries. The Scrum framework is an industry giant with over 70 percent of the fortune 100 companies adopting it.
Even though the course is open to all regardless of past experiences, it is recommended to at least have a basic knowledge of scrum and agile framework before joining.
How to Get SASM Certification?
Despite what many people believe the steps to SASM are relatively simple and easy and simple and shouldn’t take more than 7-9 business days to be completed.
- Receive Training – the very first step in getting SASm certifications is also a mandatory one. Most courses include a 16-hour training from a SAFe® Program Consultant (SPC). - Once the initial training is over what remains is to give the exam consisting of 60 MCQ-based questions, a minimum of 42 out of 60 (73%) will get you eligible for SAFe® 5 Scrum Master certification.
